It is pleasing to advise that following no new cases of COVID-19 for over two weeks, all affected areas of the facility were last week declared ‘Green Zones’ and COVID-19 free by the Commonwealth Department of Health and the Public Health Unit.

This has allowed us to resume normal movement and activities across the facility and we are operating at full capacity again. Family visits have recommenced within the guidelines that have been established by the government for the aged care sector.

In total 29 residents and 11 staff, predominantly from one household, tested positive for the virus during the outbreak. We are deeply saddened by the passing of two of our residents due to COVID-19, our sympathies are with their family and friends.

Through our work with the Department of Health, the Public Health Unit and Sonic Healthcare we were able to quickly get on top of this outbreak and limit the spread. The fact that 98% of our residents and 100% of our staff were vaccinated was undoubtedly a major contributor in preventing more serious outcomes from the outbreak.

We would like to thank our residents and their families for their cooperation during this trying time and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of our staff.  We have welcomed back all the staff members who were isolating.

Our priority was and will continue to be the safety of our residents and our dedicated staff.
