Quality and Condition

The Juniper wing was opened in December 2012. All rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious with wooden style vinyl floors, large ensuites and 9-foot ceilings. There are picture windows providing natural light and low enough to provide good views of the outside gardens when resting.

• Sensor lighting in both the ensuite and bedroom to ensure safety at all times of day and night.

Common Areas

The Juniper Wing is a dedicated Sensitive Care Dementia Unit where the dining and lounge areas are centrally located for all residents. The wing is located on the first floor with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. The common areas have cooling and heating to provide maximum resident comfort. There are 30 rooms in this room type in this wing with the following common areas:

Dining Area [120 sq metres]:

There is a large dining area with a dedicated servery area to deliver meals to individual tastes and dietary requirements. Timber dining tables seat four for personalised service and have placemats and flower displays to provide a homelike environment. The attractive fabric covered dining chairs have arm rests to offer support and comfort.

Lounge Area [60 sq metres]:

The lounge area is comfortable with attractive fabric covered chairs and sofas with side tables. There is a feature side cabinet which has a large screen television for a range of programs including movies, news and sporting events beside the feature fireplace.

Activities areas [2 x 40 sq metres]:

There are two dedicated activity areas. The two rooms are located with good views and lots of natural light from the large windows. One room has a large external balcony [50 sq metres] that is used for outdoor activities and the quality outdoor settings are shaded by a cantilever awning. This Activities room features craft and cooking activities. The other activity room features group based entertainment and activities.

Chapel [73 sq metres]:

There is a large Chapel that seats 40-50 people and is used for church services, concerts and other functions for residents. There is an organ and piano for music and a video system for services and entertainment. The Chapel has high vaulted ceilings with all walls comprised of floor to ceiling windows. Doors lead out to a splendid garden courtyard with raised beds and the other side to a large undercover area where Ruby – Olivet’s Austin 5 vintage car is proudly displayed.

Internal Garden Courtyard [90 sq metres]:

This is a beautiful peaceful green space featuring a fountain, espaliered fruit and ornamental plants and seasonal colourful potted flowers. An ideal area for residents to sit at the white cane tables and chairs with friends and family.

Café service:

This welcome service operates to provide morning and afternoon tea for families and friends visiting the facility. Lunches are also available of order.

Sensory Garden [245 sq metres]:

Featured on Gardening Australia and leading off the Acacia Wing is Olivet’s Sensory Garden which is ramped for ease of access and enjoyment of the many wandering paths with many different textured and scented plants. This area is available for all residents and their families. A picnic area with BBQ is situated at the end of the walk.
