Ageing In Place

At Olivet, we are well equipped to care for residents no matter what their level of care. We offer “ageing in place”, which means that even if you come to Olivet with lower care needs, we can still care for you here when you need full assistance. We offer a variety of accommodation catering to all levels of care, and will be happy to advise which room type is most suited to your individual needs.

See our accommodation types below or for dementia specific care, find information on our Memory Support Area, the Juniper Wing here.

The Willows

The Willows caters for residents who need significant assistance to undertake daily living activities, perhaps requiring 24 hour nursing or palliative care. They may also suffer from severe dementia illnesses or behavioural difficulties, although in these situations accommodation in our specialist memory support wing, Juniper, may be more appropriate.

The Willows is light and airy, surrounded by beautiful gardens easily accessed by all residents. A variety of accommodation is available including both companion and single rooms, some with ensuite. Constant care is provided by professional nursing staff who are on duty 24 hours a day, in order to meet the needs of each individual resident with both compassion and dignity.

Acacia

The Acacia wing offers modern large single rooms with ensuites for both low and high care residents. These spacious rooms allow residents to bring in a favourite chair or special item that will help their room to feel more like home. We have rooms for 17 residents in Acacia, but those with exceptionally high care needs may be more suited to The Willows.

Additional features include a generous dining and lounge room overlooking a sunny alfresco deck area. Visible from the outside deck, our beautiful sensory garden beckons, with a boardwalk providing easy access for wheelchairs and walking frames. The dining area also doubles as Acacia Cafe, which is available for guests to purchase morning and afternoon tea during the week.

Myrtle Court

The Myrtle Court wing has recently been fully refurbished.

Containing 13 single occupancy rooms all with private ensuite, Myrtle Court is suited to lower care residents who still maintain a level of independence. The lounge/dining area encompasses a beautiful conservatory which overlooks a peaceful courtyard garden where Myrtle trees put on a beautiful show in the warmer months.

Additional Services

Our Higher Care residents enjoy Paramedical services including Occupational Therapy (activity programs), Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Podiatry. We have a qualified dietician on staff also, who works with all our residents to ensure they are enjoying meals and getting the proper nutrition.  A hairdresser is available 3 days per week to keep our residents looking their best. She offer a range of hair styling services for a very reasonable fee. Other services such as massage etc can be arranged with an external provider upon request.

Activities

There are some lovely common rooms available for leisure and companionship. We have a light social program which is organised based on the needs of residents, and there are many activities to choose from.  The entertainment and activities are designed to enhance quality of life and maximise both mental and physical well-being. We understand that companionship is important and always plan to offer activities that fulfil our residents’ social needs.

Residents and their families can take advantage of our beautiful extensive gardens and outside areas, or just enjoy the outdoors in a private garden corner. They can also enjoy a selection of treats on offer at the Acacia Café during the week.
