The Olivet Nursing Home is a 30 bed Government-subsidised facility, open to all persons having been assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Service as requiring Nursing Home level of care.
The Nursing Home is light and airy, surrounded by beautiful gardens which are easily accessed by all residents. There is a safe courtyard area and all exits are designed with the residents' security in mind.
Most rooms accommodate 1-2 residents with some 4 bed accommodation.
24 hour care is provided by specially qualified staff. Paramedical services including Occupational Therapy (activity programs), Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Podiatry are also provided. Therapeutic massage, aroma therapy and counseling are available as extra services by qualified practitioners. There are two respite rooms used for short stay accommodation to assist those who care for their elderly at home.
Government Policy on Nursing Home care encourages the payment of an accommodation charge by Nursing Home residents who are able to do so. Persons who do not have the means to make a charge payment should still apply for entry into the Olivet Nursing Home. There is also a monthly fee charged to all Nursing Home residents to contribute towards the running of the Nursing Home. This too is established by Government regulations and is related to the aged pension, with provisions to ensure that residence is available to all members of the community.
