Activities
Throughout the year, the residents are entertained and participate in a broad range of activities. Small and large groups take part in gardening, craft and excursions which are designed to stimulate old talents, memories or just have a good time.
Volunteers regularly help with working bees, particularly in the gardens and give additional help and company to the residents. Larger group activities include relatives and children such as the animal farm that visits during the spring and excursions to the Tulip Farm in the hills.
In the colder part of the year singing and dancing groups from various “troupes” and schools visit to entertain and mix with the audience.
Each year there are two fund raising activities: the Olivet Spring Fair, which is organised by the Auxiliary to provide funds for the extra items that go toward making Olivet feel more of a home to individual residents, and the Twilight Fair which is put on by the Leisure and Lifestyle Department to raise funds for special outings or activities.
