Entry Requirements
High Care
Entry into a High Care facility requires documented approval from an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) as outlined in the Department of Health & Ageing website. Government Policy on Nursing Home care encourages the payment of an accommodation charge by Nursing Home residents who are able to do so.
Persons who do not have the means to make a charge payment should still apply for entry into the Olivet Nursing Home. There is also a monthly fee charged to all Nursing Home residents to contribute towards the running of the Nursing Home. This fee is established by Government regulations and is related to the aged pension, with provisions to ensure that residence is available to all members of the community.
Low Care
Residents entering Low Care generally pay an accommodation bond. Entry into a Low Care facility requires documented approval from an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) as outlined in the Department of Health & Ageing website.
Government policy on Hostel care encourages the payment of an accommodation bond by hostel residents who are able to do so. A portion of this bond is refundable upon leaving the hostel. Persons who do not have the means of making a bond payment should still apply for entry into the Olivet Hostel. There is also a monthly fee charged to all hostel residents to contribute to the costs of running the hostel. This fee is established by Government Regulation, and is related to the Age Pension, with provisions to ensure that residence is available to all members of the community.
Respite Care
Respite Care can be an ideal solution to these situations, and is available for up to 63 days in a financial year. Respite accommodation beyond this period requires further ACAT approval.
Entry into a Respite Care facility requires documented approval from an ACAT as outlined in the Department of Health & Ageing website.
Independent Living Units
Application for leasing or Licencing of these units is available to members of the Christadelphian Welfare Association (Vic) Inc. or other Australian Christadelphian Welfare Affiliates.
Securing an Independent Living Unit is via direct purchase on the basis of two alternatives and is subject to availability:
• A rental option which may be means tested but generally based on the aged pension. This provides the opportunity for the tenant to claim rental rebates from Centrelink if eligible.
• The purchase of a License to Occupy based on the prevailing current market value.
Making a choice between one and the other of these options is largely due to your financial situation. If you are interested, Olivet can provide a copy of the License Agreement and Disclosure Statement which contains all the details to show your family, financial advisor or your solicitor. If you wish to proceed, within an agreed period, the license agreement is signed and an agreed date of occupancy given. When your unit becomes available, you pay the balance of the moneys at a mutually convenient time.
Day Centre
A nominal fee to use the Day Centre will be asked to cover costs of transport, meals and outings. To make enquiries and bookings, please Contact Us.
